what is the weather like where you live?

Hurricane Irene has arrived at our doorstep here in coastal central New Jersey.

Right now (at almost 8pm Saturday) we simply have intermittent heavy rain, some wind, and I hear from the TV that the waves are getting rougher. But it is just like a heavy storm for now.

I hope all are safe and sound.

so exciting!! our first ultrasound!!!!

;)

Our sweet baby.... Maybe this fun little icon will make it a little more real for our friends and family who are waiting along with us. It is very real here in our home! The nursery is taking shape, the home study had us talking about raising our child, and while it is still at least a year away until baby comes home (from our understanding of the average timeline), we are very much in preparation mode while we experience our paper-pregnancy, and time of "expectancy".         We have been having fun tossing around different names, too. xo!

While we wait, surprises...

While we wait we fill our days with lots of mundane things, but also some little surprises along the way.

my sweet husband came home with these two things in hand the other day:

1- a little Asian ceramic doll.

2- take out Chinese food.

ok , so I think she is Japanese, but Kevin gets brownie pints for a concerted effort! She is Asian, so it works for me!

Hello fortune cookie, hello adorable little doll.

(she is actually a little bank.)

Terrible picture of me, but lets all remember that I was surprised with the goodies, so I was not really ready for a glam photo shoot..LOL...

Thank you, honey! :)

worried? who, me? Hey, Jesus has GOT this!

Yes, I have been worrying.
  1. if we have the right vital records on the way (though Ellen C. at Holt has been great with Dossier questions!)
  2. about the time table. This all needs to be in--and--ok'd by China before Kev's 50th birthday in order for us to continue in the Child of Promise Program. ie, by early December. (sigh)
  3. etc. (you name it...)

So, I am looking to Jesus, and I hope His words help you, too, because they do soothe me.

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me, for in my Father’s house are many mansions.” (John 14:1-2)

“Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.”(1 Peter 5:7)

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalms 55:22)

“… fear not, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:9-10)
